How Long Does it Take to Remove Wisdom Teeth? Not as Long as You’d Think!

Feeling anxious about your wisdom teeth removal? The good news is, the teeth themselves won’t be in your mouth for long! Removing a wisdom tooth is a relatively quick procedure, typically taking around 20-30 minutes. Extracting all four wisdom teeth might take slightly longer, at 30-45 minutes. During this time, the oral surgeon numbs the area to ensure comfort before carefully removing the teeth. But appointment time also depends on the type of anesthesia used. Local anesthesia numbs the area around the teeth, but IV sedation can leave you feeling drowsy or even slightly asleep during the procedure. So factor in recovery time when you ask your loved one to drive you back home after the surgery.
