What to Expect When Visiting a Pediatric Oral Surgeon

Sometimes even young children need oral surgery. Some children are born with extra teeth. They may experience unusual growth in their teeth or be especially prone to oral infections. And accidents will happen. Tooth trauma can be very common in children, especially in those that play sports. The important thing is to help your child feel calm and comfortable about the experience. We invite them to come into our office and personally meet Dr. Puckett — our oral surgeon. Your child can ask questions about the procedure. We’ll even show them our instruments and give them a ride in the dentist chair. We can also explain any sedation options for oral surgery we might do and what they can expect from that. Dr. Puckett will also answer any questions parents have. We invite you to do research so you are best prepared on what to ask.
